This is a question we are often asked, but the reality is that it is extremely difficult to give a general answer as to "how many days it takes to complete weaving." This is because the production of Shuri Ori requires an overwhelming amount of time and effort in the "preparation process" leading up to the weaving stage, rather than the actual process of "weaving" the cloth.

Starting with the conception of the design, hundreds to thousands of threads are dyed, and in the case of Shuri Kasuri, the threads are bundled and tied together to create the pattern (Kasuri-tsuburi), and then prepared for the loom (Warping).All of this is done by meticulous handwork by artisans.
